There’s nothing quite like the first few weeks with your newborn. The tiny fingers, sleepy smiles, and that fresh baby scent you wish you could bottle forever. As fleeting as these moments are, a newborn photography session is one of the most beautiful ways to preserve them.

As a photographer, I know that stepping into a studio with your little one can feel overwhelming or even just leaving the house…especially in those early days when everything is new. That’s why I make sure each newborn session is calm, relaxed, and designed around your baby’s comfort in your own home.

When to Schedule

The sweet spot for newborn sessions is within the first 10 days after birth up until 2 weeks. Babies are still extra sleepy and flexible during this time, which makes it easier to capture those cozy, curled-up poses we all love. But realistically, I will capture their cute anytime, just know the session can take longer the longer you wait.

What to Expect During Your Session

  • Plenty of Time: Sessions typically last 2 hours for a 1 hour session, giving us breaks for feeding, diaper changes, and cuddles. No rush, no stress.

  • Baby-Led Posing: Safety and comfort always come first. I gently guide your baby into natural poses, but I never force anything, they lead the way.

  • Family Shots Included: These sessions aren’t just about your little one. Parents and siblings are welcome to join in so we can capture those first family moments together. And of course, those beloved pets!

What You Need

Most parents are surprised by how little they actually need to provide during the session! I bring wraps, blankets, and many prop options to create timeless images. All you really need is your diaper bag essentials and maybe plan an extra change of clothes for yourself, just in case.

Why It Matters

Your baby will grow faster than you can imagine. The newborn stage is only a tiny chapter, but the photographs will last a lifetime. When your child is older, you’ll be able to show them just how small they once were, how loved they were from the start, and how you held them close in those first days.

Ready to Book?

If you’re expecting, the best time to secure your session is during your second or third trimester. This way, we can pencil in your due date and adjust if your little one decides to arrive early or late.

Capturing your newborn is more than just taking photos…it’s about preserving a story, your story, in the very first pages of your baby’s life.

If you are in North East and Central Florida, I’d love to travel to you, to document this fleeting milestone.
